Visual Learner

In this assignment the class was instructed to create a concept map or a graphic organizer using a free program to do so. I selected the website Creately.com. There was a wide selection of shapes to use as the text boxes, a large arrange of colors, and many styles to make the text boxes look more appealing. Within the settings, there were also choices as to where in the shape the words would line up, being either the top, center, or bottom. The controls were easy to figure out to move around the page while creating the map. The zoom feature was also very helpful. With this project I tried to create a combination between a mind map and graphic organizer. The topic I selected was elements of fiction stories. I gave four main topics within that category and then broke them down into subcategories. I tried to place the headings in each text box up high enough to allow room for students to fill out any definitions or thoughts that come to mind if I were to use this sheet in an actual lesson. Below I have an image of what I created.
